Program

Residential Camp – Ages 8-15
Lower Camp (Ages 8-12)
In Lower Camp, you will reside in the Pineside Cabins. Throughout the week, you will rotate throughout all the activities that camp has to offer during the morning periods. In the afternoon, you will participate in 2 choice periods, rest hour, and 2 periods of free time. After dinner, there is Evening Program, which is a wacky and fun program for all!

Teen Camp (Ages 13-15)
In teen camp, you will reside in the Hillside Cabins or in Blueberry Cabin. As a teen camper, you will choose a track of interest for the morning programs, and two choice programs, rest hour, and 2 periods of free time in the afternoon. At night, you will stay up an extra hour and participate in Teen Evening Program, which offers you a chance to unwind, team build, and have some fun. Past teen programs have included: messy food relays, night swim, a newspaper fashion show and campfires.


Day Camp – Ages 6-12
Day camp runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, with lunch included. Day Camp drop off time is from 8:15 AM - 8:45 AM, and pick-up is from 5:15 - 5:45 PM. As a day camper, you will participate in the same program as the lower campers (except evening program, of course!).

Every Thursday afternoon, you participate in a "Big Event." Big events are based on the theme for the week, and are a fun program for all. Click on the activities link to view all of the themes and big events for the next season.
*Campers aged 6-7 may not be able to participate in some of our activities.*


Extended Day Camp – Ages 6-12
Extended Day Camp runs Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM - 6:30 PM. Drop off times for extended day camp are from 7:15 AM - 7:45 AM, and pick up times are from 6:15 PM - 6:30 PM. As an extended day camper,. you will participate in the same program as regular Day Campers. You may choose to do JUST early drop off or late pick up.
*Campers aged 6-7 may not be able to participate in some of our activities.*



Special Needs Day Camp Program - Ages 6-15
Camp Middlesex offers a few slots per week for special needs campers. Please call or e-mail for a special needs application.


Counselor In Training Program – For ages 14-16
The Counselor In Training (CIT) Program is designed to prepare you for leadership roles both in camp and in you communitiy. It is a two year program consisting of two full weeks each year, with the possibility of further volunteer experience during the camp season. As a CIT, you will meet daily for instruction on the skills needed to become a successful counselor. You amay even graduate to become a junior counselor at camp (although not guaranteed!).

Archery

Receive NAA-certified instruction and practice in using recurve bows. (Ages 8 and up)

 

Arts and Crafts
Create crafts that are designed to stimulate creativity utilizing a variety of materials and methods.
   
Barnyard
Learn by doing about care, grooming, and handling of farm animals. Each year we receive: chickens, sheep, goats, pigs, bunnies, rats, a donkey, and other farm animals.
 
I

Dance
Explore self-expression through movement, music, drama, and dance. You may choose to participate in the weekly dance that is presented on Friday night.

 
Theater
Explore the world of theater by emersing yourself in the production of a
weekly show to be performed on Friday nights. Tread the boards as an actor,
or join the production team as a stage manger, set designer or costume
director!

 

Fishing
Fish in Willard Brook and learn about tackle crafting, angling skills, aquatic ecology, and stewardship. You might just catch the next big one!
 
Horse Management
An introductory horse program of horse care and 2 full periods of riding. ($85/week Fee)

 

Kayaking & Canoeing
This program will provide you with the basic strokes and skills to enjoy the activity of safe boating.
 
Low Ropes/Challenge Course
You will have the opportunity to work as a group to increase personal confidence, mutual support within the group, and to develop an increased level of agility and coordination. Our course has 7 elements - The Nitro Pit, Porthole, the Spider Web, Suspended Log, Mohawk Walk, Track Walk (*NEW*), and a Trust Platform (*NEW*)
 


Nature/Ecology
Develop an awareness of the environment through hands-on projects, games, and nature walks. Navagate through the 75 acres of brooks, fields, and woods.
 
Outdoor Living Skills (Pioneering)
Learn about outdoor living and survival skills. Advance through the five levels of the ACA Outdoor Living Skills Program. Program includes: fire building, outdoor cooking, and shelter building.


Science/Rocketry
You will build rockets, learn about different science concepts, and do wacky experiments!
 
Sports
Develop skills, build self-esteem, and have fun playing traditional and non-traditional games.
 

Swim Lessons
Certified staff offer basic swim instruction. Other waterfront activities include supervised free swim, canoeing, paddle boating, and miscellaneous water games.
